Delray Beach in Summer 2013

Delray Beach in Florida is a great place to spend the summer. The area is known for beautiful beaches and a great ambiance. Here are a few events to add to your Delray Beach summer itinerary.

Artists Alley

Every third Thursday throughout the summer, Delray Beach hosts a beautiful display of art. The Pineapple Grove Arts District in Delray Beach displays an open house in the evenings for a nice summer activity.

Tastemakers of Delray Beach

If you have a love for delicious food, this is your event. On August 8th and 9th you can taste test foods from 18 different downtown Delray restaurants. With the purchase of a Tastemaker passport, you can visit all these restaurants and get a sample of their best cuisine. What’s even better, each taste test comes with a drink. For just $30 you may find your new favorite restaurant.

Beach Day

A summer in Delray Beach would not be complete without some old-fashioned beach combing. You must experience the beach, its’ two-mile-long white sandy beach and the stunning clear water. A day at the beach is fun for everyone. You can snorkel, rent standup paddle boards or enjoy some beach volleyball.

Boca Burger Battle

This is an event to remember. On July 13th you can experience the ultimate grilling affair. There will be professional chefs barbequing up burgers of all kinds. In addition, there will be entertainment, drinks, Garden Market and Retail Bazaar. Judges will be taste testing along with you to find the greatest burger. A ticket to this even is $45. Don’t miss it so you are sure to place your vote for the best burger.

Father’s Day Car Show

This Father’s Day you just may want to find yourself at Minzer Park for the annual Father’s Day Car Show. Not only will dad enjoy this, the whole family will like this much anticipated event. And, this event this totally free. You can see over 100 cars that range from antiques to classics to hot rods.

Summer Camp at MacArthur Beach State Park

On June 17th the Summer Camp at MacArthur Beach State Park will knock your kids’ socks off. This is an educational camp to keep minds engaged in the summer months, but so entertaining that kids love it. There are events for children from 2nd-8th grade. These outdoor scientific adventures are sure to keep the kids loving their summer.

Sushi and Stroll Summer Walks

On July 5th and August 2nd you can enjoy delicious sushi, live entertainment and a stroll through beautiful gardens at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. You get to enjoy the gardens at your own pace through a self-guided audio tour. It is the true ambiance of a tranquil summer night.
