In 2007, I…

Ya, i realise its quite late in the day. But couldn’t stop myself…

* Stabilised my finances and for the first time invested regularly in the stock market both through pure equity and mutual funds.

* Finished 20 of my 21 papers of MBA. Also submitted my project report. Iam appealing for reinstating the results of one paper that’s remaining. If everything goes smooth, i would finish my MBA or else June’s the month.

* SHE stopped talking after almost 7 years. Bored, sick or simply pissed off with me? Dunno. After sulking for 6 months, i have moved on too. Can’t afford to hurt myself anymore.

* Spent the Christmas and New Year with my family after almost 4 years.

* Met in person, some net friends from Hyderabad who have been commenting on my blog for the past few years.

* Spent time zipping around the city i grew up in (Hyderabad) and was pleasantly surprised by the construction and retail boom the city is undergoing. Very pleased in fact to see the growth of my city.

* For the first time, i was under sustained pressure to get married by my family. After promising to get back to them after thinking for a month, i have given them them the go ahead to do whatever they please.

* For the first time in 8 years, had a serious thought of moving back to India sometime in the near future.

* Gained 8 kgs. Lost 5 kgs. Still carry the rest 3.

* Started going to the gym regularly. Managed to flatten my tummy and for the first time in my life, i saw the outlines of a 6 pack on my tummy. Quite heartening i should say. The gorging on Christmas delicacies has not dampened my enthusiasm to go after the 6 pack this year.

* After dithering for a long long time, moved my blogging platform from rediffblogs to wordpress.

* Started working towards a career in the financial world from IT. Hope to make a smooth transition in a year or two.

New Year Updates…

The new year has indeed bought some pleasent surprises for me.

* Got a nice salary raise. It was totally unexpected. Had an appraisal in December just before my India trip. But was not expecting much cos every time my expectations had bought me nothing but disappointment. This one indeed exceeded my wildest expectations. So, if you see me smiling, you know the reason.

* Got my annual greetings from the 2 kids that i sponsor in Delhi through Deepalaya. Their grades are quite good and both of them are doing pretty well not only in studies but also attending school regularly. I feel like a proud parent now. Just wish the kids continue their education and make their parents proud and grow up to be responsible citizens.

* I had an unusual request for an interview from a Pakistani website “PakSpectator“. I confirmed with them that Iam not a Pakistani. Still, they wanted to interview me among a whole lot of other bloggers. I agreed. Have replied back to them with the answers to their interview questions. Will post a link here as and when the interview is posted on the website.

* With so many good news, its normal that some problems are not far away. Am having a nagging lower back pain that refuses to go away. It all started with a lot of zipping around on my friend’s scooter on my Hyderabad trip. I wake up with a stiff back these days and as the day goes by, the pain and the stiffness goes away. Even after some heavy dosage of painkillers, the pain refuses to go. So, i have decided to let my body heal itself and stopped medication.

This weekend, i plan to start going back to gym and do some stretching and exercises to strengthen my back and abs. Hopefully, it will give some respite to the nagging back pain. If nothing works, i might go in for a session of Accupuncture.

Meanwhile, 3 cheers to Anil Kumble for a jumbo performance as usual. 600 wickets and going strong. India is indeed on a strong wicket at the end of the 2nd day of the match. Hope they wont make a hash of it.

Am flying off to Hyderabad tomorrow. Will be back in Singapore on 6th January. I will be totally off blogging during this period, unless i can find some time and a good internet connection. In fact, i want to be totally off the net and see if i still have any withdrawal symptoms as i used to experience before.

christmas wishes

Have a few errands to run on my trip, but would also like to meet up with anyone in Hyderabad. Do drop me a mail at full2njoy(at)gmail if interested, and lets hope to catch up. I would love to take this opportunity to wish all of you and your loved ones

Eid Mubarak aka Bakrid aka Hari Raya Haji

Merry Christmas

A fabulous New Year – 2008

christmas tree

May the new year bring loads of investments to India. May millions of jobs be created. May millions of families break the shackles of poverty. May the stock market boom. May we all make tons of money in the boom ;)

May God bless India.
