Ecstasy and Heartbreak

On one hand it was a great feeling seeing Deccan Chargers back to their winning ways by trouncing Mumbai Indians by 19  runs. A stupendous bowling effort by Rohit Sharma who took 4 wickets for 6 runs which included a hat trick was the main reason for the DC win.

rohitAnd on the other hand, heartbreak to see Chelsea miss yet another seat to the Champions league finals.  Andreas Iniesta’s injury time goal meant that Barcelona drew 1-1 with Chelsea and thus moved into the finals with a better away goal record.

inestagoalap0506Earlier, Michael Essien scored for Chelsea in the 9th minute to go 1-0 for the English team.

Though the behavior of the Chelsea players after the match left a bitter aftertaste!

And did u notice how Sachin only praised Pinal in his post-match interview whilst totally ignoring Duminy, who had anchored the innings until that mini-collapse?

didnt watch the matches so have no clue 🙂

@YC, going by the reports the referee was too biased against Chelsea. At least 3-4 penalty claims were turned down? Anyway that still doesnt give them the right to protest that way. Wonder what Mourinho would have done if he was still with Chelsea. Then, i would have stayed awake to see his rants at the press conference 😉

As for Sachin’s praise of Pinal at the excuse of JP, lets face the fact. For all of Sachin’s talent and performance on the field, he’s not exactly a great leader like Dhoni or Ganguly is. Its known to everyone how he plays the regional card. Or else how does a crap like Ajit Agarkar still wake up from the grave and play for India again and again? Its good that India didnt persist with giving him the captaincy for a long time.

@Indyeah i watched only the cricket. Missed the football. Now that Chelsea has lost, i would not even bother watching the highlights of the match.
