IPL 4 – The Bidding

So, the main bidding for IPL-4 is complete.  New teams, new players and newer loyalties.  Again, dont think that i need to define my loyalties, which remain firmly with Deccan Chargers.  The loss of Symonds and Gilchrist is a bit upsetting, but then life moves on and i believe DC has a more balanced team this time.

Given below is the list of the players (info source: Cricinfo) picked up in the auction and the ones retained by the teams.  The first player in each team (according to my assumption) will captain the team.

The IPL-4 looks much more formidable this time with more players, more teams and no clear favourites.   Again happy to see no Pakistani players in the auction and glad to see them being kept out of the whole tournament.  Hope this courtesy is extended to all their artists too who are feeding off our film & music industry.

First the World Cup in February and then the 4th edition of IPL.  Ah, life’s gonna be busier again.

Gilly bhai should have been retained by DC. I’d feel much better if he was leading DC.

BTW, just out of curiosity, what have you got against Pakistani players, artists etC?

I think the age factor and the fact that he hasnt been playing active cricket went against Gilly.
As for Pak players and their artists, no reason to have any kind of relation with them till they get rid of their instigation of terrorism in India. Simple. I dont believe that we can live in a vacuum. We should use our economic power (wherever possible) to enforce our strategic interest.

If only we (read-our politicians, judicial system, police force and the ordinary men/women) had the guts to do the right thing….our country would not have been in such a despicable state. A Labour party MP in the UK, who wrongfully claimed expenses for £19,000 was imprisoned recently for 18 months and his job is on the line now. Oh and btw, he paid it all back…..but still had to go to prison and in our country, people who’ve swallowed thousands of crores of public money are scot-free. Shameful!

Exactly. The ministers caught taking bribe on camera say that its doctored and escape in India. No wonder Raja is smirking after causing a 170k crore scam. No one can touch him cos he will cry that he is being targeted cos he is from a certain caste.
